You can catch this whacked out show back to back every Wednesday night at 10pm and 10:30pm PST. or 7pm and 7:30pm EST on F/X. Go ahead and catch a couple of peeks from the below videos.

It's Nutty Good Flavor

HBO has once again struck gold with their new show “Flight of the Conchords”. This show is nuts! It is like the Pet Shop Boys meet Austin Powers. As a matter of fact, Jemaine, one half of the zany duo actually resembles Austin Powers. The story of the Flight of the Conchords is about two New Zealanders who are aspiring folk musicians and have dreams of making it big in their new chosen home of New York City. Both of the struggling musicians play guitar and sing vocals in their two man band. Their success has thus far been minimal in part due their abysmal manager, Murray, who once replaced Brett with a cassette tape after Brett quit and part due to the boys’ ineffectiveness to find a new manager. The writing is sharp and the acting even sharper. Try not to miss this one which airs on HBO Sunday nights at 10:30pm ET. Please note: HBO has temporarily placed this show on hiatus until season two is produced.

Say Hello To "Madea"

Welcome to the world of Madea, a 6’ 3” black woman who has long white hair, wears an over sized house dress, and totes a variety of assorted pistols in her large purse. Oh yea!, she also has no problem in pulling one out and letting a few bullets fly at anyone who ticks her off. Madea’s creator, playwright, producer, and director, Tyler Perry, also happens to play Madea and went from no money to having all the honey status after introducing his large lovable senior citizen. The first time I saw Madea was in a play named, “Madea’s Family Reunion” on DVD. Within the first twenty minutes I was totally hooked. She was just simply hilarious. I had never seen nor heard a character like her before. To me she resembled an NFL defensive end in a mu mu. Well when you combine a character as Madea with a further compilation of brilliant acting and singing that touches your soul, you have the ingredients for a hit. Madea's Family Reunion was also made into a movie in 2006. After watching my first Madea adventure, I was compelled to go out and rent some more of Tyler Perry’s Madea adventures, like, Madea’s Class Reunion, Meet the Browns, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, and Madea Goes To Jail. These can all be rented at your local video store. I highly recommend them.

Tyler Perry Goes to the Small Screen with "House of Payne"

Tyler Perry has decided to make a transition to the small screen with his new comedy show, “House of Payne” which airs on TBS on Wednesdays at 9:00pm and 9:30pm ET. The House of Payne has many of Perry’s quirky but brilliant stage like personifications. Its premise consists of a set of parents, the mother (Ella) played by Cassi Davis who has a big heart, and the father, Curtis, a.k.a. (Pops) is played by Lavan Davis who is the local fire chief and has only one desire, which is to live in his house and not be bothered by anyone, especially relatives. Well that does not seem to be a foreseeable future for the disgruntled dad as he constantly is beleaguered by his son Calvin who is suppose to be living in his college dorm room that his father pays for but instead stays at home when possible to have easy access to both food and having his laundry done for him. To add to the ongoing chaos in the Payne household is their nephew, C. J. and his two children who unexpectedly move in because their house burns down and have no other place to go. Although the first few episodes of House of Payne seemed to struggle a little with its acclimation to the TV arena, it gradually settled in and has found a home on the Super station. The show deals with many of life’s issues such as drug addiction, family disfunctionality, and the love only a family can share. House of Payne has become a pretty good hour of television and should be around for quite some time.

Cast:

Pops….Lavan Davis
Ella….Cassi Davis
C. J….Allen Payne
Calvin….Lance Gross
Jazmine….China McClain
Malik….Larramie Shaw

Darth Vader Interviews for a Job

Now that the Imperial Armada and the Death Star have been destroyed, Darth Vader no longer has such responsibilities that pertain to evil and destruction. So I guess the next chapter in his life would be to seek employment so that he can continue to pay his bills. Can you imagine Darth Vader on a job interview? Well the video below will give you some idea into that scenario. It was made by a company known as “Tonerwoods Productions” and it is hilarious. It is definitely top of the line material. I guarantee you will watch it over and over again. Enjoy!

The Brak Show

The Brak Show, a spin-off from the show “Space Ghost” that aired on the cartoon network. Brak and his buddy Zorak decided to make a go of it on their own and make it they have. Mark Banker and Jim Fortier are the writers of the Brak Show and it can only be cleasified as simply comical with a capital “C”. The setting of show is as follows: Brak lives a simple life at home with his parents. His dad stands about three feet tall due to some type of experiment involving shrink rays while his mom runs around in a house dress, an apron, and a mask always adorning her eyes making her look like June Ward on Mars. Brak’s best friend is Zorak, an evil praying mantis that walks on two legs. The only way to describe his demeanor is well, mean! I cannot understand why Brak continues their relationship as Zorak is constantly out to make Brak’s life miserable. Another interesting character on The Brak Show is Brak’s neighbor, a ten foot robot that goes by the name, Thundercleese. The chemistry between Thundercleese and Zorak is really pretty malevolent. Once you see a few episodes, you will see what I am talking about. At last there is the star of the show himself, Brak. Brak is some type of cat creature who also wears a mask, red waders and has saber tooth like tiger teeth that protrude from his mouth in a very ferocious manner. Brak dances, sings and is an all around good guy. I catch The Brak Show on my Comcast cable, adult swim on demand. Check your local listings to see where you can find Brak or just watch him on You Tube. They have many episodes. The following is a little glimpse of The Brak Show featuring Brak and Thunderclesse. Get ready to laugh your head off. The Brak Show hits the mark when it comes to being funny.

Chad Vader (Great New Show!)

I came across “Chad Vader Day Shift Manager” while visiting You Tube. After viewing the first episode, I was hooked and continued to watch the remaining seven for season one. Chad Vader is Darth's brother and his vocation turned out to be less exciting as that of his sibling who is in charge of the Armada. None the less, Chad's spends his days leading a misfit set of employees so that his destiny which is Empire Markets will be a formidable foe in the supermarket regime. The characters are hilariously zany and the writing is top notch. All I can really say is “I cannot wait until season two begins. I hope you give Chad Vader a try and enjoy it as much as I did. Catch all of season 1 below. Have fun!
